This is Shima from gemish, a natural stone accessories brand.
Maybe because I used to work in design, I am sensitive to subtle differences in color.
A former Paris Fashion Week model and celebrity once said, "There are 200 shades of white!" I don't know if there really are 200 shades, but there are many different types of white.
Colors look different depending on the colors next to them, so what appears to be white text on a poster or advertisement is actually a pink that is very close to white. This happens quite often (though most people don't realize this).
I don't think the human eye can detect such subtle differences in color. Maybe there really are 200 different shades of white.
The jewelry I make is made from natural materials, so most of the white pieces are off-white rather than pure white. Pearls are a slightly pinkish white, and white shells have a glossy finish, so they have a luxurious feel even though they are white.
It's hard to tell from the photo, but the shell earrings shown below are made from real white shell (white mother of pearl) and not the plastic fake shells that are commonly sold, so you can clearly see the difference by touching it or looking at it with your naked eye.
There is also lovely summery jewelry made from shells, coral, turquoise, etc. so be sure to check it out.
